Counselor

Jerry has served in biblical counseling ministries since 2020. He began on the counseling staff at Valley Forge Baptist in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and in 2025 started a ministry at Reformed Baptist Church of Franconia, Pennsylvania. Counselor

Jerry has served in biblical counseling ministries since 2020. He began on the counseling staff at Valley Forge Baptist in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and in 2025 started a ministry at Reformed Baptist Church of Franconia, Pennsylvania. In this capacity, he provides counseling through the sufficiency of scripture on various issues, including marriage, abuse, addictive habits, and other strongholds.

As full-time employment, Jerry is the CEO of a secular addictions counseling center in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where he offers biblical counseling options for groups and individuals. Jerry earned a bachelor’s degree “with distinction” from the Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Certified Biblical Counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, and a Commissioned Addictions Biblical Counselor (CABC) through The Addiction Connection, where he also serves as a commissioner discipling individuals through the credentialing process. Jerry is married to his wife Kathleen and has two children and one grandchild.

Senior Counselor

Maggie completed an MABC from The Master’s University (TMU) in Santa Clarita, California, in August 2022. Maggie is an ACBC certified counselor with ACBC Specializations in Addictions, Marriage, and Reconciliation. She is also a Commissioned Addictions Biblical Counselor (CABC) by The Addiction Connection (TAC). Maggie began biblical counseling initially in 2008 with a local pregnancy resource center and by ministering in local shelters for homeless and abused women. Maggie has also served as a chaplain, both with her local Fire Department and with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief ministry. 

During the grand opening and start-up operations in 2022-2023, Maggie was the Assistant Director of the Damascus House for Women, an eight-bed residential treatment ministry of Canyon Hills Community Church in Bothell, Washington. Maggie has served as a biblical counselor with three different local churches and has participated in several overseas mission trips in a disciple-making role.

Brandon was raised in Kern County and later settled in Bakersfield. Shortly after graduating from high school, he served in the United States Navy. Brandon is a graduate of The Master’s University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries and a Master’s degree in Biblical Counseling. He is certified with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). Brandon, Jennifer, and Noah have attended Grace Bible Church since 2020 and are actively involved in serving the body. Brandon currently serves as the pastor over the Men’s Ministry at Grace Bible Church.

Dr. Chen has taught biblical counseling at seminaries, universities, and conferences; been featured in biblical counseling observation videos; and recently published Biblical Counseling and Mental Disorders. Jenn was previously licensed as a clinical psychologist in 2002, having earned a PsyD in Clinical Psychology and an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian institutions, with formal training in evidence-based practices in psychotherapy. Midway through her career as a psychologist, Jenn received biblical counseling — an experience that changed everything. She went on to earn her MABC, left the secular mental health field, and is deeply grateful for how biblical counseling transformed her faith, her life, and her counsel.

Dr. Cullen received her biblical counseling training from the Institute of Biblical Counseling and Discipleship, The Master’s University, and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Since 2005, she has been an active Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) member. Currently, she serves at Grace Community Church in Sunland, CA, where she is involved in Women’s Ministries, teaching and mentoring women, and contributing to the Biblical Counseling Ministry team. Shelbi also co-hosts the Women’s Hope Podcast, a program produced by The Master’s University. She is married to her husband, Sean, and they have raised four grown children together.

He also serves as Director of Counseling and Upper School Bible Teacher at Savannah Christian Preparatory School, where he teaches Old Testament, Life of Christ, and The Bible and Life’s Issues. In addition, he teaches as an Adjunct Professor in Biblical Counseling at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary/Spurgeon College. Justin hosts the podcast Scripture for Today. He and his wife, Jenna, are members of Hope Bible Church, and they have one son. Justin is the author of Help! I’m in Darkness and Thinking Biblically About Social-Emotional Learning: A Resource for Christian Educators, Counselors, and Parents.

He received a B.S. in Psychology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from The Master’s University, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Michelle has had a love for biblical counseling since 1999, when her husband gifted her with a copy of Jay Adams' "The Christian Counselor's Manual." Michelle and her husband have been married for over 25 years and are parents to 2 boys. Michelle has a heart for women who are experiencing grief, depression, and anxiety.

Alex Hilton received his biblical counseling training at The Master’s University, where he earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Biblical Counseling. He is currently pursuing his M.A. in Biblical Counseling and is working toward certification with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), presently completing Level 2 training. Alex is actively involved in ministry at Bear Valley Church, where he regularly preaches to youth and serves in worship leadership and discipleship.

Melissa Lennox has served as a biblical counselor since 2020 and is certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). She holds an M.A. in Bible, an M.A. in Biblical Counseling, and a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling from Bob Jones Seminary.

Melissa and her husband, Lee, the senior pastor of First Baptist Church, help lead the church’s Freedom That Lasts ministry. She serves in the church’s children’s, women’s, and counseling ministries, and together they are licensed foster care providers. Melissa and Lee have been married for twenty years and are parents to eight children and one son-in-law. They also serve at Northland Camp and Conference Center during family camp, teaching and counseling couples.

In addition to pastoral ministry, Jared also serves as a part-time chaplain at a local hospital and is married to his wife Bethany.
